NFL Week 8 Predictions

nfl-shield2

Its week 8 of the 2016 NFL season and the league shaping up really nicely for the Patriots and I am enjoying it. I got Thursday night footballs prediction right, I picked the Titans and they delivered. Here are my predictions for Week 8.

Jacksonville at Tennessee: I picked the Titans for this game

Washington at Cincinnati: This is a difficult game to pick. I think Washington has the right offence to go against the Bengals. Both teams are more like an 8 – 8 teams and it could go anywhere I pick the Redskins even-though it seems unlikely I think they might get this game

N.Y. Jets at Cleveland: I wish the Browns could win the game. I kind want them to win since they seem more of the underdog. The Jets should win but I pick the Browns.

Seattle at New Orleans: The saints will score enough points to stay ahead of the Seahawks. I pick the Saints

Arizona at Carolina: These two teams were expected to be high performers but they seem to be struggling. The panthers have only one good player in Cam Newton. Unfortunately he wouldn’t be enough to win at Arizona. I pick the Cardinals.

New England at Buffalo: I dont pick against the Patriots as a rule. The earlier meeting at the Gillette stadium was a disaster for the Patriots. With the Bills having some injuries in their offence I think the Patriots are going to be unforgiving especially the defense that was humiliated with that 16-0 shutout. I believe Tom Brady will have a great game against the Bills.

Oakland at Tampa Bay: The Raiders have a bad defense but their offence will be good enough to win against the Bucs. I pick the Raiders.

Kansas City at Indianapolis: The Colts stink and I dont believe they will win against the Chiefs. I pick the Chiefs.

Detroit at Houston: Matthew Stafford is playing like the best QB in the NFL. This week he has Ebron, Riddick in offence so even more weapons to throw to. They have Ezekiel Ansah and Hyder in defense and I think they are built to beat the Texans who are struggling to find themselves. The lions are my second favorite team this season and I pick them to win.

San Diego at Denver:  I said it before that I dont believe in the “superior” Denver defense. I dont think they are a great team and against a superior offence they will get scorched. The Chargers will win at Denver. Also the Chargers have a good defense and will easily deal with Trevor Simeon. I pick the Chargers.

Green Bay at Atlanta: The Packers have been exposed and Julio Jones is too good for Greenbay to handle. I dont see how the Packers will get a win. I expect the Falcons to win so I pick them.

Philadelphia at Dallas: Jerry world will see another victory this week. I have said this before, Dak Prescott is special. Together with Ezekiel Elliot, I expect Dallas to win. Also Dez Bryant will be available that offence will be hard to stop. Carson Wentz is good but Dak has the winning mentality to stay with the game till they win.

Minnesota at Chicago: The Vikings are going to the playoffs and the Bears are not going to take a game from them. This should be an easy win for the Vikings. I pick the Vikings to win.

Thursday Night Football Week 8: Jaguars @ Titans

jaquarstitans

Its Thursday night and that means we have some football! So here is my pick for the game between the Jaguars and the Titans.

I think the Jaguars are a team that have a lot of maturing to do. They are too week and against a team like the Titans who are not doing well themselves, I expect them to fold. The Titans have good players and are capable of turning the heat at a any moment to get a win. I think the Titans smell a chance to get a much needed win and will take this game. I pick the Titans.

NFL Week 7 Predictions: Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers

Its Thursday night football again and Green Bay are in the spotlight again. This time gains the Bears. I will like to pick against the Packers with the injuries to Eddie Lacy and a luck of a running game to help Aaron Rodgers who is increasingly getting inaccurate with his throws. But I think after getting beaten at home I don’t think Aaron Rodgers will repeat his mistakes. The loss to the Cowboys was mainly his fault. I will pick the Packers against the Bears who have a greater potential to stink up a game. I pick the Green Bay Packers.

NFL Week 6 Prediction Recap

Week six is over and WOW what a week in the NFL. I was happy because the Patriots beat the Bengals. I hope Vontaze Burfict enjoyed the taste of defeat in his mouth(that guy lacks self control). I cant say too much about the other games that were played but I will be watching some games during the week. Top on my list is the Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers game. Like I correctly predicted Dak Prescott is turning out to be a great QB and there is no way I was picking the Packers against Dak and Ezekiel Elliot with that Dallas O-Line. The next will be the Bengals vs Patriots game and then the Rams vs Lions game. You might ask why watch the lions game whiles the Falcons vs Seahawks game is available. Well i king of like the Lions so I watch their games when I get the time.

So How did I do on my Predictions. Well I have my predictions below and I have highlighted my wrong predictions red and those that I had right in Green.

In total I got 7 predictions right which rounds up to 46.7% . That was a bad set of predictions.  Hopefully I get my predications better in week 7. Hope you have better luck with your predictions.

Denver at San Diego : With the kind of performance the Chargers are showing I will have to go with the Broncos. The Chargers don’t seem like they have a spine. Joey Bosa will make some great plays but the Chargers lack the ability to take advantage of situations. Denver will take any chance you give them. Chargers will start strong but I doubt they can finish well. I pick Denver Broncos.

L.A. Rams at Detroit Lions :  Although Matthew Stafford is not consistent I think he will play well in this home game. The lions might have Ezekiel Ansah back to boost their defense with Kerry Hyder. I think the Lions can take whatever the Rams bring. I pick Detroit Lions.

San Francisco at Buffalo :  Chip Kelly’s offence is no good when their best quarterback is still on the bench. It seems that decision was more of a legal one done Chip Kelly’s doing. If they start Colin Kaepernick they might have a chance against Rex Ryans defense which proved that it can handle any team when they played the Patriots. I think Buffalo Bills win this one.

Jacksonville at Chicago: This is a difficult one. The Bears stink and the Jaguars stink. I think home advantage might be enough to get Chicago the win . I pick the Chicago Bears.

Cleveland at Tennessee:  Cleveland don’t have a quarterback. That’s all I can say about that the Browns. The Titans seem to be finding their feet and are looking better as a team. if Marcus Mariota can avoid any interceptions and turnover’s in general they can close this one. The Browns are not to be taken lightly they could cause an upset if the Titans don’t close this early. I pick the Titan.

Philadelphia at Washington :  I will base this on the strength of the QB position. Carson Wentz will certainly outperform Kirk Cousins. I think the Eagles defense is solid. Kirk Cousins is not really reliable and will certainly throw  some interceptions (I am predicting 2) and Carson Wentz will have a great game. I will pick the Philadelphia Eagles.

Baltimore at N.Y. Giants : I expect the Ravens to dominate but we all know the Giants will win when you don’t expect it. Although Eli Manning has been really bad this year I expect him to have a great game. with wide receivers like Odell and Sterling, I think they will win but it will be a close game.  I pick the Giants.

Carolina at New Orleans: The Saints are back from a bye week and the panthers are sinking fast. If Cam Newton is still out then certainly the Saints will have a win. Drew Brees can get the Job done. I pick the Panthers to have an edge with Cam Newton.

Pittsburgh at Miami :  Miami are such a bad team I don’t see how they win this game. The Steelers win.

Cincinnati at New England : I don’t pick against the Patriots. Tom Brady will show how good he is with a win at Home. His first home game after the suspension. I expect the Patriots to win.

Kansas City at Oakland : I wont lie about this one. I like what is going on in Oakland. I Pick the Raiders.

Atlanta at Seattle: This will be a great game to watch. Seattle is good but Atlanta are having a good season with that electrifying offense. If Mat Ryan keeps up the good work I dont see Atlanta loosing. The most people though the Broncos will halt the falcons but it was a mismatch. I pick the Falcons to repeat the same success against the Seahawks. I pick the Falcons.

Dallas at Green Bay :  Green Bay are suck a good team it will be inconseavable to choose another team. But Dak Prescott is special. Together with Ezekiel Elliot I expect these two to cause a heavy upset. The Packer give away very few points to the running game but I still think Dak Prescott is special. I don’t think we have seen the best of this kid and if the test gets tougher I expect him to do something really special with the ball. I pick Dallas.

Indianapolis at Houston : Hmmm, Andrew Luck or Brock Osweiler. I think we all know the answer. The Colt win. Even though they are not  a good team with a terrible O-line they are good enough to win against the Texans. I pick the Indianapolis Colts.

N.Y. Jets at Arizona : I predict another Terrible game for Fitz Patrick. The honey badger will have a pick six. Also I don’t think the Jets have a good answer for Arizonas running game. David Johnson will have another monster game. I pick the Cardinals.

NFL Week 6 Preview and Predictions

Its week 6 of the NFL and here are my picks.

Denver at San Diego : With the kind of performance the Chargers are showing I will have to go with the Broncos. The Chargers don’t seem like they have a spine. Patriots 33 – 13 Cleveland Browns

Yes, Brady is back!!!

The world is perfect again. What a game by Brady, and he looked like he was still in his twenties. Its good to not have to think about who will play quarterback this season knowing that the greatest of all time. This game looked like it was all going to be about Tom Brady but the two tight end are something else. All I can say is that Bennett and Gonk are going to cause some problems in this league.

OUCH!!! That Really Hurt. BUF 16 – 0 PATS

Let me start off by saying that I didn’t watch the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter of Sundays game. It was too painful to watch. I was hoping for a closer game but I couldn’t bare watching a shutdown of the patriots at the Gillette stadium.

The performance of the team was totally unbearable to watch. Early on it was clear that the Bills had the edge in this game but a shutdown was not on my mind. from the beginning of the season most of us were not expecting the go 3 -0 by week three and a loss wasn’t unexpected knowing that we didn’t have Tom Brady due to the suspension.

It is not that we lost a game to the Bills at home but it was the manner in which we lost that was really disappointing. Like Bill Belichick said everything was bad. the The defense the offense and the coaching was all bad. We are 3 -1 and will have Brady back to face the Browns most of our troubles should be behind us but this type of loss shouldn’t happen again if the Patriots are thinking of making it to the Superbowl.

Facts

This is the first time the patriots have lost by a shutdown since 1993 and the first shutdown loss for the patriots under Bill Belichick at home.

😦

Lets talk about Jacoby Brisett

I don’t know much about Jacoby just like most of you out there. Everyone is caught up in the Tom Bradys, Big Ben and Jameis Winston. But today in the game against the Dolphins Jimmy Garoppolo got injured when he was tackled by Kiko Alonso and the new name had to step up and take the position of the quarterback.

Here is a little history about Jacoby from Wikipedia.

Jacoby Brissett (born December 11, 1992) is an American footballquarterback for the New England Patriots of theNational Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida and NC State. He was drafted in the third round with the 91st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Well in his first professional game against the Dolphins he had a pretty bad showing. The offence went from adventurous and exciting to timid and conservative. Jacoby didn’t look confident when he threw the ball. He was quite slow in handing the ball over to the running backs when they had to run the ball. It wasn’t a really good fist game for Jacoby. We understand that he is rookie but we need to winning is really important. It seemed like he really didn’t have any strengths but he showed a lot of athleticism and that will be the key to using Jacoby.

Pay attention to how quick he is when he runs with the ball. I think if New England is going to make the most of Jacoby then they need to play to his strengths and give him the chance to run with the ball. Rushing the ball will be the winning strategy if we can get the O-line to create those kind of opportunities for him. Short passing and rushing the ball will be the best way to ensure that Jacoby manages the game well without any turn overs. He has a strong arm too so he will be good for those long deep balls with single coverage to the receiver. James White and LeGarrette Blount will have to take up a lot of responsibility when Jacoby is on the field but I am sure he has assets that can be used to our advantage. To be fair to Jacoby he got better as the game against the Dolphins went on and seemed to grow in confidence but he still has a long way to go before being able to pass like Jimmy or Tom Brady. At the moment I can say that his running game is good and we should let him run when he has the opportunity.
